Hi, let me introduce myself. My name is Mariellen Wise and I live the country life in Waterloo, Iowa on a 12-acre Ranch on the edge of town with my Husband Toriel Wise (hence that's where the name Country's Edge Custom Hats & More came from).

We have a total of 13 children including the sibling group of 5 we adopted. We love living the country life and both my husband and I have grown up showing horses & we get to continue our passion for that together with our children.

How I got into being a Pyrography(Burn) Artist?

Ever since I was a child, I've been Artistic and it has always been a passion of mine.  In 2011 & 2012 I graduated as a Nail Technician and a Tattoo Artist and went on to do those Careers for 6 years, so I have the experience and skills that have helped me continue my passion for Artwork that I now do on Hats and other items. 

How I got the idea to try doing Art designs on hats in the first place?   

My husband and I show Horses every year and we were at a Horse Show a few years back and I saw a woman wearing a Western Hat that had a small branded design on it and thought to myself that's cool I wonder if I could draw on the hat with a pyrography tool that I used for woodworking and sure enough I tried it and at first it took several attempts with trial and error to get the correct temp and pressure of the machine to make the design I was going for but I finally got it down and now I love creating custom personalized designs for my customers!!
